Founded in 2007 as a division of Advanced Science and Automation Corp, AscienceTutor.com's mission is to provide high end interactive e-learning courses for the academic, industrial, and government markets. The e-learning courses seamlessly incorporate the following technologies:
- Advanced virtual reality video game technology.
- Artificial intelligence for 2-way natural language interaction with the user.
- Multimedia in the form of 2D/3D animations and interactive simulations.
- Real time physics based modeling.
- Near photo-realistic animated virtual tutors.
We currently provide advanced software e-learning courses for the following subjects: CNC milling and turning, welding, pump maintenance, and university physics. In addition, we can develop custom e-learning courses tailored for the customer's needs.

Tamer Wasfy - President and Founder
Tamer Wasfy received a B.S. (1989) in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo, an M.S. (1990) in Materials Engineering from the American University in Cairo, an M.Phil. (1993) in Mechanical Engineering form Columbia University and a Ph.D. (1994) in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. Prior to his current position, Dr. Wasfy worked as a research scientist at the University of Virginia at NASA Langley Research Center. He also worked as a research scientist at the department of mechanical engineering, Columbia University. Dr. Wasfy authored and co-authored 60 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of flexible multibody dynamics, finite element modeling of solids and fluids, belt-drive dynamics, tires mechanics/dynamics, visualization of numerical simulation results, engineering applications of virtual-reality, and artificial intelligence. He gave many talks and presentations at international conferences and invited lectures on those topics. He received two ASME best conference paper awards as first author. Dr. Wasfy has served as PI on federal and state funded research projects and grants on applications of Advanced Science and Automation Corp.'s products. Dr. Wasfy founded Advanced Science and Automation Corp. in 1998 and AscienceTutor in 2007. He is the software architect for the DIS, IVRESS and LEA software systems, which are used by automotive and aerospace companies, government agencies, and academic institutions. Dr. Wasfy is a member of ASME, AIAA, and SAE.
Hatem Wasfy - Vice President for Research
Hatem Wasfy received a B.S. (1994) and an M.S. (1996) in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo. Mr. Wasfy worked as a modeling engineer at NCSA, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and as a teaching and research assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at the American University in Cairo. Mr. Wasfy's research interests include cavitation modeling, CFD, internal combustion engine modeling and design, artificial intelligence (AI) for creating user-friendly intelligent interfaces to computational codes, and AI rule-based expert systems. He published a number of papers in those areas. Hatem Wasfy directs the research and development effort of training/education applications and various fluid and solid computational algorithms.
Jeanne Peters - Vice President for Information Technology
Jeanne Peters received a B.A. in math/computer science from the College of William and Mary. She worked at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA for over 20 years as a senior programmer/analyst for George Washington University, University of Virginia, and Old Dominion University. She co-authored over 70 journal and conference papers in the areas of: computational mechanics, finite element method, shells/plates, composite material panels, and tires. She has also worked on numerous projects to create advanced engineering design and learning environments which include multimodal user interfaces for space systems. As Vice President of Information Technology, Jeanne Peters directs the development of advanced virtual reality applications, including scientific visualization applications and web-based multimedia education/training applications. Some of her personal interests include playing the organ and piano.
